A movement with a message on a mission
The Foursquare Church, officially known as the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, is a Protestant denomination founded by Aimee Semple McPherson in the 1920s. Foursquare derives its name from what McPherson called the “Foursquare Gospel: Jesus is the Savior, Jesus is the Healer, Jesus is the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, and Jesus is the Soon-Coming King.” These four distinctives are reflected in our logo above.
As a movement, we are dedicated to worldwide evangelism, proclaiming the message of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. Word-wide Foursquare is active in 150 countries, with over 8.8 million members attending 67,500 churches and meeting venues.

The Foursquare Gospel.
Jesus is the Savior.
As the sinless Son of God, Jesus came to earth to proclaim the Kingdom of God, preaching repentance and the forgiveness of sins. He was crucified and rose from the dead on the third day. Jesus declared that He was the only way to God the Father. “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (Matthew 14:6). Through repentance and faith in the resurrection of Jesus, anyone can be born again and have eternal life.
Jesus is the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit,
Fifty days later, He rose from the dead. Jesus poured out the Holy Spirit on the world in fulfillment of the prophecy in Joel 2:28. The Baptism with the Holy Spirit empowers the church for the service of the Lord, releasing the gifts of the Holy Spirit spoken of by the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians chapter 12. Any born-again Christian can receive the Baptism with the Holy Spirit.
Jesus the Healer
Much of Jesus’s earthly ministry involved healing people from every type of physical sickness and illness. He cast out demons, raised the dead, and healed all who came to Him. The key verse of Foursquare is found in Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Jesus Commissioned His Church to do the same things that He did. Jesus still heals today.
Jesus, the Soon-Coming King
Scriptures declare that Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords (Revelation 17:140 and that all authority has been given to Him Matthew 28:18). The Bible declares that one day Jesus will return to earth to take up his rightful place as King over all kings and Lord over all lords.
